In the 1980s Laurence decided to leave the music business behind and move into theatre. Over the last 35 years, he’s worked in London’s West End and Broadway, putting on a wide array of productions including:
“Hairspray”; “End of the Rainbow”; “Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell” (starring Peter O’Toole); “Laughter On The 23rd Floor” (starring Gene Wilder); “Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf” (starring Kathleen Turner and Bill Irwin); “Duet for One” (starring Juliet Stevenson and Henry Goodman); “The Seven Year Itch” (starring Daryl Hannah); “Mack & Mabel” (starring David Soul); “Budgie The Musical” (starring Adam Faith and Anita Dobson); “Matador” (starring John Barrowman and Stephanie Powers); and “Million Dollar Quartet” (starring Martin Kemp and Peter Duncan).
As an investor, he has been involved in: “Hamlet” (starring Andrew Scott and Juliet Stevenson); “Blithe Spirit” (starring Angela Lansbury); “The Miser” (starring Griff Rhys Jones and Lee Mack), “Billy Elliot” and “The King’s Speech” (starring Jason Donovan).
